We invest in organizations dedicated to expanding play and physical activity access for youth in Racine County.

Fueling Play-Based Change in Racine

The Racine Play Foundation's grantmaking program reflects our core belief: access to play should not be determined by zip code, income, or circumstance. We fund organizations that share our commitment to creating a Racine where every young person can move, play, and thrive.

Whether you're a small grassroots program or an established nonprofit, we want to hear how you're making play possible for Racine County youth. Our grants support direct programming, equipment, facility access, staffing, and more.

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. We review submissions quarterly and notify applicants within 45 days of each review cycle.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can for-profit businesses apply?

No. Grants are available only to nonprofit organizations, public schools, parks/recreation agencies, faith-based organizations, and grassroots groups with a fiscal sponsor. For-profit businesses are not eligible.

Do you fund organizations outside of Racine County?

Our primary focus is Racine County, Wisconsin. Programs primarily serving youth in adjacent counties may be considered on a case-by-case basis if there is demonstrated benefit to Racine County youth.

Can I apply for multiple programs in one application?

We ask that you submit a separate application for each distinct program. This helps our team evaluate each program on its own merits and impact.

How long does the review process take?

Applications are reviewed quarterly (March, June, September, December). All applicants will receive a decision notification within 45 days of the review cycle close date.

What if my organization is new and doesn't have a track record?

We welcome applications from newer organizations. In lieu of a long history, we ask you to demonstrate strong community need, a credible program plan, organizational capacity, and the potential for impact. Consider applying for a smaller initial grant to establish a relationship.

Can previous grantees reapply?

Yes! Previous grantees are welcome to reapply. We prioritize organizations that demonstrated strong impact, submitted timely reports, and maintained open communication with our team.
